End of 2G/3G networks: Delta Dore helps you make the transition
Telephone operators in Europe have begun the transition away from 2G and 3G mobile networks in favour of more modern, secure and efficient technologies (such as 4G, LTE-M and 5G). This change affects many devices that are still connected to 2G or 3G networks, including certain Delta Dore alarm systems equipped with a GSM transmitter. But don't worry: your equipment can be upgraded, and our partner installers are on hand to help you.
Why and when will 2G and 3G networks be discontinued?
These technologies have been in use since the 1990s, and are gradually becoming obsolete. They are being replaced by more modern, secure and energy-efficient networks.
In many European countries, the 2G and 3G networks are not being switched off simultaneously across all operators. In practice, even when some operators switch off their networks, at least one operator will continue to provide 2G or 3G connectivity during a transitional period, to ensure continuity of service for critical applications (security, alarms, telemetry, industrial equipment, etc.).
Here is the provisional schedule for switching them off in Europe:

Does it affect me?
It affects you if:
- You have a TTGSM transmitter or a Tydom 315: these 2 products work on 2G*.
- Or a Tydom 2.0 that works on 2G and 3G

If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask your installer.
Do not worry, your equipment will keep working if you have a smart home hub (Tydom or Tywell). They will still detect intrusions and send you alerts via the Tydom app even after 2G and 3G networks are switched off.
All you have to do is allow notifications in the application:
- Settings > House > Notifications, then activate the desired notifications (intrusion, technical alerts for smoke and water leak detectors, etc.).
However, if you want to continue receiving alerts by SMS or phone call, you will need to upgrade your installation.
The new solution: the Tyxal+ Hub (spring 2026)
From spring 2026, Delta Dore will be offering a new connected control unit: the Tyxal+ Hub. Here is a sneak preview of its features. It will allow you to:
- Continue to receive SMS alerts and calls on 4G
- Benefit from a more modern connection: Ethernet, Wi-Fi and/or 4G
- Control your alarm via the Tydom application
- Keep your existing Tyxal+ equipment: door/window magnetic contact detector, smoke detector, etc.
It is the ideal solution for upgrading your system without replacing everything.

About the product warranty :
The evolution of telecom networks (like the switch off of the 2G and 3G networks) depends exclusively on telephone operators. As such, these changes are excluded from the product warranty, in accordance with the Delta Dore warranty conditions.
This does not prevent your installation from continuing to function. Delta Dore and its network of installers are also available to assist you in upgrading your system if you wish to retain specific features, such as SMS or call alerts.
* Please note that products in the former Tydom 320/330, CTX60, Deltal and Deltis alarm ranges also work in 2G.
