Frequently Asked Questions

What is the camera expert mode and ONVIF protocol available with Tycam Guard?

The expert camera mode is designed for installers and experienced professionals.

It provides access to advanced functions such as adding a digital mask, anti-mask function, advanced image quality settings, ONVIF configuration and email alerts.

About the ONVIF protocol
ONVIF stands for Open Network Video Interface Forum: standardised interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products.

Tycam Guard cameras can be fully integrated into a third-party system that is not part of the Delta Dore ecosystem. This new integration option requires advanced network/security skills and a number of prerequisites:

  • A professional account on the Tydom app to access expert camera mode
  • Retrieving web interface identifiers from expert mode
  • Installation of a Delta Dore smart home hub (Tydom 1.0, Tydom Home/Pro/Tywell, Tydom 2.0)

Warning: To use this mode, the camera must be connected to a secure network.

There are many benefits to using ONVIF compatibility, such as:

  • Using several cameras of different brands
  • For more advanced uses, such as retrieving camera feeds from video monitors
  • If you need to add an NVR digital recorder to Tycam Guard, to benefit from increased storage capacity

The use of Expert mode requires advanced network and security skills, in order to ensure the compliance of the installation and the protection of users' personal data. No Delta Dore technical support is provided in the use of Expert mode and in the activation of ONVIF compatibility.
