Frequently Asked Questions

My Tycam camera connected to a PoE switch is heating up; is this normal?

Like any electronic device, the Tycam camera heats up when it is switched on. It is, therefore, normal for your camera to feel slightly warm to the touch as it is designed to dissipate heat quickly. This heat is also dependent on its activity (frequency of recordings, access to live video, night vision, etc.)
If the camera is connected to a PoE switch, remember to check its compatibility, as the camera requires a PoE power supply (IEEE 802.af standard), not PoE+ or ++ (adapt the switch configuration if necessary).
