A new video service for all Tycam 1100 and 2100 cameras

As we mentioned a few months ago, the Tycam camera update is well under way.
The benefit: giving you access to live and recorded video with your current camera in a matter of seconds, thanks to a stable, high-performance new platform. You'll also enjoy new compatibilities with Delta Dore smart products and more features on the app.

A new camera, without changing camera
Thanks to the change of video service, your Tycam 1100 or 2100 camera will evolve, as will the camera section of the Tydom app:
- Access to live and recorded video will be faster and more stable: for efficient confirmation from the app,
- The recording history will be separate from live video on the app, for even simpler access to information,
- On the Tydom app, you'll be able to program the operation of your camera, create (selectable) scenarios and (automatic) routines by connecting your camera to your alarm system, your shutters or even your lighting,
- With one click on the app, you can also deactivate the camera by choosing between two privacy modes (classic or administrator): you film only what you want, when you want,
- Your camera will encrypt your video data itself: you'll be able to view your videos on the app, and you'll have 30 days to download and store them on the camera's SD card securely,
- Your personal data will be even better protected thanks to the new video service designed and hosted in France, compliant as always with cybersecurity standards and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),
- Your camera will be compatible with all brands of SD cards from 16 to 128 GB (class 10 mandatory, MicroSD or SDHC or SDXC): up to 8 days' continuous recording stored with a 32 GB card for example.

How will the change of video service work and what are the prerequisites?
Your camera will be updated automatically. Once the update is complete, it will restart and be connected to the new video service.
To do this, however, check that your installation meets the following conditions:
- You have the latest version of the Tydom app: go to the App Store or Google Play to check if an update is available,
- Your camera is equipped with a working SD card (“ready for update” status visible on your camera, in the Tydom app, once updated).
- Your camera is equipped with a working SD card (“ready for update” status visible on your camera, in the Tydom app, once updated)

How do I check the status of my SD card?
Make sure you have the latest version of the Tydom app in the App Store or Google Play and check the status of each of your cameras on the app. The message displayed on your camera will tell you whether any action is required on your part to enable it to be updated, in September.
“Ready for update” status: no action is required on your part, but make sure you have the latest version of the Tydom app (go to the App Store or Google Play to check if an update is available).
“Replace SD card” status: equip your camera with a commercially available SD card, a mandatory class 10 microSD, SDHC or SDXC from 16 to 128 GB. For your information, all commercially available cards inserted into an updated Tycam 1100 or 2100 will now be encrypted by the camera itself.
We recommend that you unplug the camera, insert the new SD card, plug the camera back in and then format the SD card.
Note: the lifetime of an SD card depends on how it is used. The more data you record on it, the more it wears out. For example, the estimated lifetime of Delta Dore SD cards in ‘continuous recording’ mode is around 2 years.
“Format SD card” status:
- Empty the SD card by downloading the recordings you want to keep,
- Go to the settings menu in the top left-hand corner of the app,
- then “home name”, “my devices”, “camera name”, “advanced options”, “storage” to format your SD card.

How do I know if the update was successful?
The “camera updated” status will be displayed on your camera in the app. You'll also have access to new features such as programming and scenarios, for example.
Keep your videos! Once the camera has been updated, you will have 30 days to download your old video recordings. After this time, they will be permanently deleted.
If your camera appears disconnected in the Tydom app (greyed out) and/or you no longer have access to live and recorded video, go here.

How can you stay informed?
All the important information about updating your camera will be sent to you by email.
Depending on the communications you agree to receive during future updates of the app, you may be informed, if necessary, by notification on your smartphone, via messages in the Tydom app and/or by SMS.

Questions & Answers
Will there be a service interruption when the camera is updated?
At this stage, no interruption to the video service or the Tydom app is expected. Otherwise, you will be informed by the Delta Dore teams and guided through the procedure to follow.
How do I know if the update has taken place?
Once your camera has been switched over to the new video service, you'll notice a change in the camera section of the Tydom app and the “camera updated” status will be displayed on your camera in the app's camera menu.
What is the deadline for bringing my camera into compliance and benefiting from the automatic update?
Your camera will be updated automatically if it is connected to the Tydom application and has an operational SD card. Otherwise, you have until 17 March 2025 to bring your camera into compliance. After this date, you will no longer have access to the video service. You will need to manually update your camera to access the new video service.
